I wrote this poem in fifth grade. Enjoy! :)
I went around the back of my house
Quiet as a garden mouse
To the place where trees reside
Where they stand, side by side
Behind the briars, behind the berries
Each and everyone speckled with cherries
Behind each bush an entrance waits
It leads me to the Dreamyard gates
In my head I walk all night
Ignoring the shakes created by fright
Although my dream is not real
The feelings I get I cannot conceal
Behind the bushes, my dreams are found
They stand tall, from the sky to the ground
My future here is crystal clear
It’s nice to know my shelter is near
My eyes are closed, lost in the dreams
Each picture here is not what it seems
I went around my house as I slept
To the place where trees are kept
I tried to create a world of magic
but it ended up nothing short of tragic
Behind each bush the time’s at stake
But it will be gone when I awake
